ALS Graduate, with Honors!!!

Sarah graduated from Airman Leadership School yesterday. She was the recipient of two awards; Academic Achievement for the highest grades in the class, and Distinguished Graduate for grades in the top 10% of the class. She was also "coined" (presented a coin) from two separate commanders. Doesn't she look nice in in her semi-formal, service dress uniform? I am so proud of her!!!

Aurora!

The aurora displays have been spectacular the last couple of nights!!! Tonight is supposed to be even better than the last two nights. Michael has lots of pictures.

This is our house with the Northern Lights above it and about a foot of snow on the roof and at least two feet of snow in the yard. It's a duplex, and on the other side of the garage is the neighbor's house.

Rista Cat

Here's our cat Rista. She's about three years old. She's a fat furball. We've nicknamed her Sqeaky because she has a high-pitched meow that sounds like she's squeaking.
Her favorite game is chase the string. (She even has a favorite string!) When we get up in the morning, or when we come home from work, she meets us at the door, meowing and squeaking. It's not that she's lonely, its that she wants us to play chase the string with her.

We were looking in a cat book one time and saw a cat that looked almost just like her, so we've decided her breed is a cream-point Birman.

Snow!

Snow! It's what you think of when you think Alaska. Here's our porch railing with about ten inches of snow on it. We woke up yesterday and saw seven fresh inches. Of course, that means we have to shovel the walks at work.

Yes, our Christmas lights are still up. It's too difficult to try to take them down in the winter. The snow we've been pushing off the porch so far is over knee deep, and plus it's just SO cold. Around Christmas time, it's also not very light outside after work is over to SEE anything if we did want to try to take them down. It is getting lighter, though. The sunset actually lasted until I got off work today.
