Since we've been home from Vacation for two weeks already, I'd better get busy and put the pictures on the blog! First, are some pictures from Grampa's camera, so they are a little out of order.
| The family at Crater Lake National Park. |
| Dassah helped Daddy split kindling for a fire. |
| A four generation photo! |
| The family on Aunt Debbie's hammock. |
| Dassah visiting with Great Grandma Huntington |
| Great grandparents |
| Grampa, Grandma Huntington, Grandpa Huntington, and Aunt Debbie |
| Our family with Mike's Grandparents |
| Everyone at the family get-together. |
| We enjoyed visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Huntington. |
| Dassah made friends with cousin Ashley. |
| Hearts! |
| Tired girl. She fell asleep on Aunt Debbie's lap. |
| At the beach. Obi helped me dig a hole. |
Now for pictures from my camera. We came home from the cabin for one day, just long enough to pick up Daddy and repack the car.
| We saw our sunflowers at the peak of their prettiness. |
| Obi decided to read for a little while to pass the time. |
| Our first stop was at Justine's house where we were able to pet some horses. |
| Next we went to Gramama and Grampa's house. One of the hazards of sleeping with a baby... they like to sleep sideways. |
| Spending time with Grandma McMillan |
| Blowing bubbles with Aunt Sarah. |
| "Watch me blow bubbles, Mommy!" |
| Splashing in the pool and splashing the dog. |
| Then we headed out again. "Let me drive Daddy." |
| "This car seat hinders my ability to put my toes in my mouth. Oh wait, nevermind, I got it." |
| We stopped in Burns Oregon for the night. There were 5 deer in the empty lot right behind our hotel. |
| A baby deer! |
| Wrestling with the boppy pillow |
| We brought Grampa along with us on our vacation. Here, we're checking out the balcony connected to our hotel room. |
| We made it to Crater Lake! |
| The family. Obi's favorite game this entire vacation was to grab Daddy's hat and drop it on the ground. |
| Some pretty flowers on the path. |
| A couple was there with their dogs. Dassah really had fun playing with them. |
| Soon we made it to our campsite. Obi immediately found the dirt. |
| Helping Grampa set up the tent. |
| Dassah helped Daddy start the fire. |
| Obi found a hole to sit in. |
| Once the fire was lit, Obi was drawn to it like a moth. We had to really keep our eyes on him. |
| Still setting up the tent. |
| Roasting hotdogs |
| Obi thought hotdogs were delicious! |
| Sitting by the fire. |
| Ready for bed. It was close quarters in the tent, but we all fit! |
| The next day we went on a walk. Look at this big tree! |
| He's such a good Daddy. <3 br="">3> |
| Grampa got a turn carrying a little boy. |
| Another family picture. |
| An even bigger tree! |
| Clark's Nutcracker. These birds were everywhere at Crater Lake. |
| Wizard Island. Look at how pretty blue the water is! |
| Me |
| Grampa and Dassah |
| Down in the lake they give boat tours. We didn't take one, though, because it's an arduous trail down to the lake. |
| Some interesting rock formations |
| Such a cute girl. The rock on the mountain behind her makes it seem like she has a halo. |
| A friendly chipmunk |
| Looking over the wall. |
| The phantom ship. |
| The pinnacles |
| All worn out after driving around the rim of the crater. |
| Back at the campsite, playing in the dirt. |
| Roasting more hotdogs. |
| Dirt is so fun!!! |
| We took a sunset hike up to the top Watchman Overlook. Here they have a watch tower to watch for wildfires. |
| Sunset over Crater Lake |
| All five of us |
| On top of the world! Or at least this boulder. |
| After leaving Crater Lake, we headed north. "Here Grampa, you can have my sandwich." |
| Dassah loved this water fountain. |
| At Aunt Debbie's house. So exhausted. |
Most of the family pictures from Grampa's camera fit in here. The battery on my camera was dead when we wanted to take all the pictures.
| Obi with Uncle Steve |
| Dassah! |
| Dinner with Aunt Kathy. |
| She crawled into bed with us around 5 am and promptly fell back asleep. |
| On Monday, we took the kids to the beach for the first time. Obi loved digging in the sand and eating it. |
| Dassah loved digging in the sand too. |
| Yum... sand... |
| We mostly had the beach to ourselves. |
| Crawling through the sand and finding rocks to eat. |
| Building a sandcastle with Daddy. |
| Digging a hole with Daddy. |
| Daddy helping Dassah splash in the waves. |
| Heading out to get wet. |
| "It's too cold!" |
| Cheese!" |
| Mommy got her feet wet, too. |
| So did Obi. |
| "The water went in my hole!" |
| Digging the water out of her hole. |
| Splash! |
| Pictures with Grampa |
| Dassah found half a crab! |
| Obi helped wreck Dassah's sandcastle. |
| Working on another sand castle. |
| Sarah didn't know she would have to bury her husband so early. |
| We had to bury Dassah, too. |
| How many wiggly kids can you hold at once, Daddy? |
| At Cape Meares Lighthouse. |
| Posing |
| Walking the path near the lighthouse. |
| Dassah helped Aunt Debbie wash dishes. |
| After leaving Aunt Debbie's house, we stopped at Multnomah Falls. |
| A family picture in front of the falls. |
| There was an old hollow tree stump along side the path. |
| Next we stopped at Bonneville Dam. |
| Look at the size of that turbine! |
| We were excited to see scripture posted in plain sight. |
| Inside, we could see into the fish ladder, where fish can swim past the dam. |
| Looking at the lampreys. |
| This fish is as big as Dassah! |
| Next stop, another hotel room. "I can almost reach it!" |
| Poor baby had a rough day: falling out of bed that morning and then pulling something over and cutting his eyelid that night. |
| We passed two of these huge things on the way back to Gramama's house. This one we had to stop and wait while they maneuvered around the corner. |
| I made two baby blankets while we were on the trip. This one was for Danielle. I somehow lost the picture of the one I made for Justine. |
| At Danielle's apartment, Obi discovered the door stops. They made him laugh hysterically. |
| I wanted to get a picture of her cute ponytail. She kept posing for me. "Get a picture of me like this, Mommy." |
| Danielle and Chris took us to the Hill AFB Air Museum. |
| In front of the planes. |
| Self portrait |
| A huge camera |
| Dassah is as long as the arrow. |
| There was an area where children could play and try on costumes. Obi had fallen asleep, so I very carefully placed a helmet on his head for a picture. |
| Dassah was an astronaut... |
| a pilot... |
| and a bomber. |
| She got to "fly" a plane. |
| Danielle and Chris |
| Dassah's still "flying". |
| Obi woke up and got to play with some blocks. |
| We tried a helmet on him while he was awake. He didn't like it. |
| More blocks! |
| If you touch this and hold this tiny light bulb, the light will come on! |
| the light is on! |
| A block castle |
| Daddy and Obi in front of Air Force One. |
| Shoulder rides. |
| An ejection seat. |
| Afterwards, we went and got ice cream. |
| "Keys taste better than ice cream." |
| Dassah found a new hat. |
| The guys sat up late playing Call of Duty. |
| "Whee!!!" |
| Coke and Pepsi. |
| Last stop before home was back at Justine and Levi's house. Dassah got to ride on the four wheeler. |
| This picture somehow got way out of order, but here's Obi with Grandpa Huntington. |
It was a fun vacation, and we really enjoyed seeing everyone and everything, but in the end, it's always nice to come home.
