Pretty Girl!

I can't believe how big Dassah is getting!  She will be two in just a couple weeks!

She is so smart.  She often counts to us, "one, two, free," or "six, seben, eight, nine".  She is continually talking to us and frequently repeats everything we say.
First thing in the morning, eating cornbread for breakfast.

Dassah loves to swing on her swing!

There is a train car in the park, and Dassah enjoys climbing the stairs on it.

Close up

Playing with friends in the Dining Hall

Another close up with a sweet smile

"Whee!!! I can do this myself!"

Dassah's becoming quite the reader.  She will frequently pick up a book and read it to herself.

Another picture of her reading.

Helping Mommy make muffins for breakfast.  Dassah likes "nuffims".

We took Dassah's car outside.  She decided it was too difficult to drive on the grass.

A bee.  This day had lots of bees and butterflies on our dandelions.

Dassah, a bee, and a butterfly all in one picture.

Dassah put on her dress all by herself on this day.  Here, she's pretending to be a mountain climber.

"I love my daddy, and my kitty."

Balancing on the bear

"Quick, Mike, grab the camera before she pulls her pigtails out!"

Wild hair day.  A combination of sunscreen and static from the slide.

Playing on the merry-go-round with a friend's ball.

Playing with soap bubbles at the park with a few friends.

Cute little sweethearts.  These two are only a week apart in age.

Pretending to go "night-night" on the trampoline.

The reason I had so many close ups at the start of the post.  Dassah's left eye is half blue, half another color.  I think it's cute.  Can you see it?

My Toddler!

First, some pictures I pulled off of Justine's facebook page.  We went to visit Fort Laramie last weekend and these pictures (except the very first one) are from our trip there.  They should have appeared at the end of the post, but for some reason they showed up first.

Blogger was starting to frustrate me, too.  I tried to load pictures 6 or 7 times before I finally got them to appear in a post.

.
I love this picture.

Climbing the stairs on some old officer quarters at Fort Laramie.

Standing in front of some ruins.

We were taking pictures of the cannons and other weaponry in this building when Dassah suddenly slipped between the bars!  We caught her before she got out of reach, though, and she slipped back through easily enough.  What you can't see in this picture is there is a pit not 10 feet away that was probably 6 foot deep, showing an older building on which this building had been built.
Our little "jailbird" posing with Aunt Justine.

The rest of these pictures are from my camera...

Dassah loves to play on the keyboard.  She is also starting to like having bows in her hair.

We threw Justine a surprise birthday party.

My smiley girl!  So happy!

Probably Dassah's favorite meal.  She asks for it often, "Noodles, peas, carrots."

Wearing a pretty dress.  She's playing with a baby Jesus from a plastic Nativity we keep in the living room.

Rista Cat was sitting on this stump and Dassah wanted to sit beside Kitty.  As soon as I pulled the camera out, though, the cat jumped down.

"I'll get down now."

Picnic in the yard for a Saturday lunch.  So much fun!

"Here, Mommy, I ate the good stuff.  You can have the crust."

We dressed her in her swimsuit to run through the sprinkler, but she got scared and didn't want to get wet.

So cool in sunglasses and a hat!

Sometimes we go into Dassah's room after naptime and discover every toy in the room on her bed.  She likes to sleep with company apparently.

The official taste tester.  The sippy has "juice" and the water bottles have milk and water.  The toilet paper roll, she just stood up there with them just because.

Dassah loves to sit on stools.

Just a few Pictures

Walking in Daddy's boots.  On Dassah's forehead, you can see the injury where she pulled my bicycle over on top of herself.

"This is harder than it looks!"

Little copy-cat!  Hands in her lap and ankles crossed.  Dassah loves her Justine.

The school is going to build some married student housing in the vacant lot next door.  They started by bringing some big machines to move the dirt around.  Dassah thinks it's very fascinating and loves seeing what the "tractors" are doing.

"Look at this pretty shiny headband, Mommy!"

Look at the tail Mommy managed to get in Dassah's hair!

During the school's spring break, Dassah and Mommy went down to visit cousins in Colorado Springs, but we forgot to bring the camera, so we didn't get any pictures.  Immediately afterward, Gramama and Aunts Anna and Sarah and Uncle Isaiah came over to visit, but Mommy for some reason didn't get any pictures of them either.  Justine took plenty of pictures; I'll have to see if I can borrow some of hers.

The Past Month

So much has happened in the past month!
One thing that happened was Sarah found out she's expecting baby number two, as shown in the previous post.

Dassah received a toddler bed from a family at church.  She LOVES it!  The first few weeks, she begged to go "night-night".

"Bear is on my pillow!"

I have a silly girl.

Mike gave Dassah a spoonful of peanut butter.  She ate it so he gave her another.  Her third spoonful, she decided peanut butter makes wonderful face paint.

Trying to catch bubbles!  We blew bubbles for Dassah.

"Catch! Catch! Bubble!" Dassah is speaking so well!

To keep Dassah occupied while I did some cleaning, I gave her a bowl of water.  She decided to dump it on the floor, but she had fun splashing in it.

Helping Mommy cook by licking out the bowl.

This past Tuesday was a gorgeous day with the temperature up in the seventies.  What do you do with such a beautiful day?  Spend it outside, of course.

Drawing pictures on the sidewalk

Helping Mommy pick up sticks dropped off the trees over the winter.

Eating lunch outside

Raking the yard, or um... driveway.

Slide!  The slide is so fun!

"I can climb the ladder by myself!"

"Please let me out!"

We went down for a nap, then came back out to swing on the swing.  I think she's saying "Boo!"  or maybe "Push!"

I took the mattress off her bed to change the sheet and Dassah thought the bed frame made a good obstacle course.  She stepped over each bar, then turned around and did it again.

Rista had to go to the vet on Friday to have a tumor removed.  Dassah looks at her and says, "Kitty, owie."
