Father's Day and other pictures

One of the things we did for Father's Day was take our first nice family portrait.
A Father/Daughter portrait. They look so cute together.

This one, I was just standing there so Michael could adjust the settings on his camera, but I liked it better than any of the posed pictures.

Showing off the pretty dress Hadassah wore for her pictures.

Look at the size of those feet!

Cuddle time with Daddy.

What's a cat good for? To warm your toes, of course!

Taking a walk around the block.

Daddy is getting sleepy. Somebody else is not.

Thankfully she does sleep, though. Here she is, Sleeping Cutie.

1 Week Old Today!

Hadassah is already one week old! Here are some pictures from the past week.

Rista's somewhat uncomfortable around Hadassah, but she still makes sure she gets her attention, too.

Daddy tickling Hadassah's feet with his beard.
"Go that direction." She was just stretching in her sleep and we happened to catch this.

Look at how bright eyed she is!

First bath at home. Just a sponge bath, but Hadassah did not enjoy it very much.
She can already hold up her head for a few seconds!
A close up.
Her hands are so tiny!

Hadassah's here!

Hadassah Ruth was born June 1st at 1:27 pm. She weighed 7 lbs, 9 oz, and is 20 inches long.

Here I am two days before going into labor. The IV and oxygen to keep her heartbeat steady during my contractions. I had an epidural, so I didn't feel the intensity of the contractions, but she apparently did.

Our sweet little girl!
Mommy and Hadassah.
The proud daddy.
She's so cute!
Ready to go home.
Sound asleep.

Cat Bath

We decided we really needed to give Rista Cat a bath. She smelled like her litter box and had a clump of stuff under her tail. I did not want her making a mess somewhere in the house. Her fur was also clumping up from the sticky sap of the new leaves on the trees outside. She was a very good kitty and didn't try to scratch once while she was in the water. Michael and I both put on long sleeves just in case, though.

Here's Rista right out of the tub before we had a chance to dry her off.

We used several towels to dry her and then got out her brush and brushed her to keep her fur from getting tangled.

The mess in the bathroom after the bath was over...

Then of course, Rista has to give herself a bath afterward to make sure we got everything.
All done! She's still rather damp in this picture, but she's definitely fluffing up again. We'll brush her again when she's completely dry to make sure her fur doesn't mat up.

Maternity Photos

A couple weeks ago, Michael and I turned our living room into a photo studio and took several maternity pictures. Michael found it interesting to be the photographer AND the subject. It took him a little while to fix them up some, but here they are.

The belly, while showing off our wedding rings as well.
The two of us.

I saw this pose on a website and thought it cute. It turned out nice.
I saw something like this on a website too, and bought the shoes just so we could do a picture like this.
