Fall Colors

The colors are really starting to change up here. The aspen and birch are turning gold, the fireweed is turning dark red, the wild rose is turning orange with bright red rosehips. Everything is very pretty. These are some berries I found behind our house. A berry book we have says they're cranberries and they are edible, but I haven't tried them yet. Rista is helping me check out the pretty colors.

"Don't you think I blend right in?"

President Bush only a few feet away from Michael's position.

This is the best picture we have with Michael and Mr President. Hopefully we can find a better picture to post.
Here is Michael with a friend and the First Lady.
And a real, live Secret Service member. He looks just like one from the movies! Or could it be the other way around...?

David and Goliath?!

Nope, just Michael and Sarah playing with their new toy last Sunday, a sling.

Sarah has been working on a story and one of her characters' weapon is a sling. in order to write accurately and effectively, she has been doing some research online. Along with her online studies of the workings, she decided to create a prototype to test out herself. We discovered that hurling rocks with a sling can be quite fun.
